Accessing the website

When you access this website, an entry of the form

is added to the log file of the web server and stored for 14 days in order to troubleshoot problems with the website as well as detect and prosecute anyone trying to hack into the system. As you can see, the entry contains the internet address accessed, your IP address, the time of the request and the browser/operating system used. Furthermore, the website might create and read a text file (“cookie”) in your web browser storing the selected language.

The legal basis for the log entry and the cookie is art. 6(1) f GDPR (“legitimate interest”).

Contacting me (email/phone)

When you send me a message through the contact form, email or phone, I will keep the message for some time in case we start doing business together or you contact me again later. If we do end up doing business together, I will keep them until 5 years after the end of the business relationship in case there are questions or disagreements regarding the performance of our contracts. If we don’t, I will delete them 6 months after our last interaction.

The legal bases for the storage and processing of messages are art. 6(1) a, b, c and f GDPR. You can ask me to delete your messages and I will do it unless there is an important reason to keep them (e.g. if I am legally obligated to keep them or I need them as evidence for something).

Your rights

You can object to the processing of your data by contacting me and stating why the processing unduly burdens you. Furthermore, you can request a copy of your data as well as request the correction of your personal data (if you provide the necessary information to identify it). You can also request the restriction of the processing (see art. 18 GDPR), or the deletion of data if the legal grounds for the processing do not apply anymore.

I am responsible (i.e. the “controller”) for any data processing pursuant to the GDPR and you can contact me about any issues using the contact information at the top of the page or using the contact form. This website is hosted on servers in Germany provided by Hetzner GmbH.

If you think I am breaching the terms of the GDPR, you can hand in a complaint to the Berlin supervisory authority (Berliner Datenschutzbeauftragte) or your local supervisory authority.
